The US government estimates that EACH person produces 82 pounds of textile waste per year! Keep your clothes out of landfills and donate them to Bag2School so that they can be sent to Africa and sold at market rate. Items will be shipped overseas and sold as quality used clothing, boosting affordable clothing markets in developing countries.
What used items can be donated?

  • Men’s, Ladies and Children’s clothing
  • Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around)
  • Handbags
  • Hats
  • Bags
  • Scarves and ties

Local Scholarships for Seniors

Reposted from

This year the Senior Awards Night will be held on Wednesday, June 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the Holliston High School Auditorium.  There are many awards announced that evening, some require an application, while others are faculty nominated.

This year we are continuing to use the HHS Common Scholarship Application for many (not all) of our local scholarships.  Seniors will need to complete one HHS Common Scholarship Application then photocopy the original application for each scholarship (using this application method) to which they are applying.  A Scholarship Cover Page is required for each application as well.

PLEASE NOTE:  Some scholarships will continue to use their own individual scholarship applications.  These individual scholarship applications may be obtained in the Guidance Office and/or at the indicated websites.

Descriptions of ALL local scholarships are available for your perusal.  Please be aware that some scholarships require supplemental information.  Please be careful to follow all directions.

Completed applications are due back to the Guidance Office by Tuesday, April 15, 2014.  The Guidance Office will attach the student transcript and counselor recommendation to each application that the student brings to the Guidance Office.  All other required information must be provided by the student (including activity profile/resume, teacher/other recommendations.)

Planning for the Senior Auction

There will be a very important Senior Auction Meeting on Wednesday, April 9th at 7pm in the high school library. We are encouraging all students and parents who are interested in serving on a Senior Auction Committee to attend this very important meeting.

The Junior class is also forming student-led pick-up teams for the Pick-up Committee. These teams are responsible for picking up donations starting this May through October.  Teams consist of 3-4 students and each team must have a vehicle and a licensed driver to transport donations to the storage facilities. The committee has 3 teams so far and need at least 5 more. Students may speak with a class officer or Ms. Mills or Ms. Moreau if they are interested.

Grade 10 Physical Exams

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS are required by Massachusetts Law, (M.G.L. Chapter 71, Section 57). During the high school years, a physical is required for Grade 10 students. These examinations may be conducted within the school year or within 6 months before (March) entry to Grade 10 with the results on file by June 1 of the 10th grade year.

For the class of 2016, a physical performed between March 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014 is acceptable. Students who have had recent physical exams should please send a copy to the HHS Nurse.

A Call For Acceptance

Posted on April 4, 2014, Ryan Cahill, Staff Writer

Each morning, during the pledge of allegiance, I stand but remain silent. I’m not the only one; in fact, almost everyone is silent, sitting down as soon as they get the chance. However, unlike many others at my high school, my silence is completely intentional. As homophobia remains a rampant issue in modern society, I refuse to pledge my allegiance to a country which ignores my rights as an American.
