The process for filling a School Committee vacancy is prescribed by Massachusetts State Law, which authorizes the remaining members of the School Committee and the members of the Board of Selectmen to appoint an eligible member of the community to fill the vacancy until the next annual Town election in May 2016. To fulfill this obligation, the School Committee and Board of Selectmen will hold a Joint Meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 6:00 pm to vote to appoint a new School Committee member. That meeting will be held in the Library of Holliston High School. Town Clerk Elizabeth Greendale will also attend the meeting and will be available to swear-in the newly appointed member with the expectation that the new member will participate in the Regular Meeting of the School Committee scheduled to begin at 7:00pm that same evening.
