Sadie told me she’s been creating art since she’s been two years old. She likes all kinds of art and is willing to participate and use all kinds of media. In this particular lesson after a hard and snowy winter, a day at the beach was the theme. Several large shells from my collection were placed on the tables and kindergarten students used sharpies to trace them. Students then used watercolor paint to fill in the shells and the back ground with color. The goal of the lesson is to have the students experience and learn how to hold a brush, understand how watercolors work, and develop an idea how colors mix. Sadie’s color mixing was very successful.
