Abigail and Ava Moran have been making art as far back as they can remember. In their free time they both like to draw realistic images like animals, flowers and people. Their medium of choice includes fine tip markers, pens, shading pencils, pastels and tortillons and clay.

The Art Lesson: This multi layered Mixed Media Art Lesson integrated Math, Science, and Social Studies into the instruction. After learning about the celebration of the Day of the Dead and how the annual migration of the Monarch Butterfly to Mexico has become a symbol of the holiday, students used repeated colors and shape patterns to create an aerial view of a field of flowers. Students also applied their knowledge of symmetry to the design of their own Monarch Butterflies which were then attached to the painting.
