The goal for Title I is to provide additional, supportive instruction to identified students. This instruction usually takes place in the regular classroom in very small groups, allowing for more individualized attention to the students. These groups are regularly conducted during the school day in addition to the instruction for the classroom teacher. Parents and Title I Instructors work closely together to support the curriculum both at home and at school. On a regular basis, Title I sends Home Involvement Packets that can provide helpful information for parents and several activities for the students to practice skills they have already learned. Each year, grade-level services for Title I are determined by a Needs Assessment Survey that is given randomly to parents, staff and administrators. The delivery of services is building-based and is determined at the beginning of each school year. If you have any questions about this program please feel free to contact Placentino Elementary School at 508-429-0647.
The Title I Program is a federally funded program. It provides supplementary instruction in the areas of Language Arts (reading, writing, speaking and listening) and Math to selected students in grades K-3. In Holliston, eligible children receive instruction in Language Arts.
